- potential to damage the finish of other tasks
- sequence of measurement
- order lead times
- finishing requirements
- ease of access....etc
Kitchen Remodeling Critical Path
The Critical Path in a typcial kitchen remodeling or renovation project
is:
- Demolition Cabinet - and removal of the old kitchen: 1 day to
1 week
- Demolition Structural - walls and removal of debris: 3 days
to 1 week
- Demolition Flooring - removal of existing flooring to be replaced:
1-3 days
- Construction of new structures [if required]
- Excavation of new foundation: 1 week
- Pouring new foundation: 1 week
- Drying: 2-4 weeks
- Framing new areas: 3-4 weeks
- Plumbing and Electrical: 2-3 days
- Walls - lining and preparation for finishing: 2-3 weeks
- Flooring - installation of new flooring:
- wood: 3-6 days
- ceramic: 3-4 days
- vinyl: 1-2 days
- Cabinets -installation of new cabinets: 3 days to 2 weeks
- Countertops - Installation of countertops: 2-5 days
- Plumbing and Electrical - finishing, appliances and hookups:
3-5 days
- Windows and Doors: 2 days to 1 week
- Wall Finishing - painting or wall covering: 1 week
- Clean up: 1-3 days
- Final walkthrough and installation of furniture: 1-2 days
