Building Green

Different things motivate different people when considering materials to build or renovate a house. One growing trend is the 'Build Green'

Building green refers to using only natural materials in both the construction and decoration of the building. In addition, most Green Buildings have a strong environmental protection factor and seek to generate their own power and reuse as much as possible. This is referred to as 'sustainable' building.

A sustainable home or building is one that produces much, if not all of its energy, and requires little in the way of utilities. Read more on sustainable homes.

In many instances the two overlap, as Green building attempts to integrate more with supporting the local ecology, and sustainable home design seeks to create a self sustaining sub ecology within the surrounding environment.
