Causes of Leaky Bathroom Fittings
There are many reasons why bathroom fittings leak into wall cavities:
- Hardware failure
- Incorrect installation resulting in misaligned seals at joints
- Pipes get knocked out of alignment by movement of the house
- Incorrect sealing of the building wrap
Aquatite Wet Wall Caddy
Aquatite wet wall caddy is a moulded ABS plastic device the encasses
the plumbing fittings with a flange that fits over the wall substrate,
sealing it from the framing and thus protecting the insulation cavity
from potential leaks.
The water control valve sits inside the device to trap any leaks.
If the water overflows, it exits out [via the flange] the front
of the tiles to warn of a leakage.
This is about as good a leak protection system as you can get.
